The goatpocalypse is upon us.
At least, that’s how it probably feels in one Boise neighborhood where dozens of goats were found just kinda roaming and feeding on the well-manicured lawns.
The horror. The adorable horror.
The goats apparently belonged to a company that rents goats for lawn eating services and escaped from their pin.
KTVB’s Joe Parris captured the munching menaces early Friday morning, giving the world one last glimpse of Boise before nothing is left.
Already, it’s been pointed out that the warning signs were there. We just ignored them until it was too late.
But even in the face of such terror, Twitter did what it does best: make with the jokes.
For once a natural disaster that isn’t linked to #climatechange. Dear internet, I give you the #goatcalypse chewing its through #Boise. The replies are #udderly worth reading just for the bad puns. #goats #wholetthegoatsout #happyfriday #animals #cuteanimals https://t.co/LbXmrbbeit

Boise must now begin an annual Running of the Goats.

Eventually, all good things come to an end, though, as did these goats’ adventure. But for those few hours, the goats finally knew freedom; they tasted it like so many delicious aluminum cans.
And then, it was gone.
